Unfortunately, the HTML lists do not offer that sort of flexibility.
Sometimes you can get what you need out of a definition list (DL) in compact
mode, but cross-browser support for display is a little shaky.

IMHO, a list like this could be considered tabular and can justify using a
table for presentation.
