I'm still confused, but would be happy to help if I can.  Am I any closer
with this set up of what you are looking for?

So when you are on one.html the link to two.html will be blue, and when you
click on the link to two.html (which is also on page one.html), the link
will be red until the browser moves on to two.html

Then you will get to two.html and the link will be red like it was when you
were waiting for the change from page one.
