[thelist] (preferably) open source ticket sales/reservations software

I am approached by a local theatre to build an online ticket
sales/reservations system...

I would have rushed headlong into building a custom hack job for them a
few months ago, but recent projects have taught me not to bite off more
than I can chew.

Does software that will do this sort of thing exist already? Any
experience you guys have with this sort of thing or suggestions you
could make?
