Yes, you're missing something. To be legally blind does not mean that you
see absolutely nothing. The cousin I briefly mentionned in another post is
legally blind and is protected from discrimination under the law. Yet, she
has about 2% vision, and she works on a computer all day long. Granted, her
computer is specially equipped, but she does use whatever poor vision she
has to read the screen (you should see the letter size she's using. I'm in
awe when I think she's doing a darn good job translating law texts!)  She
does not use a screen reader. She actually reads.

She may be blind, but she's not colour blind at all. There are others like
her.
