That's not true - Python can be downloaded for Windows in a lovely, easy to
use pre-packaged binary installer:

I use it for all kinds of things (it can do some great stuff on Windows -
the scripting language is totally cross platform compatible anyway and when
you add stuff like the Windows COM extensions it becomes a powerful way of
scripting and programming on the Windows platform).
