           Wilderness, the film crew induced lemmings into jumping off a
cliff and into
           the sea in order to document their supposedly suicidal
behavior.

Status:   True.

Origins:   Lemming suicide is fiction. Contrary to popular belief,
lemmings do
           not periodically hurl themselves off of cliffs . . .
