if that's true then i'd be glad to stick with what i've got. however, if
i'm downloading a page that is 50k because of the spacing characters
instead of 40k, wouldn't 10k make a difference to someone on a slow
connection?

does it (browser/modem/server/etc.) really compress repetitive
characters?
