Not to mention that they could be obsolete much faster. A page on CSS specs
(or bugs), could be updated regularly on the Web. Couldn't do that on paper.

Let me share an interesting experience. When the Internet started gaining
mainstream acceptance here in India - about 4 years ago - books on the
Internet very becoming popular. What amused me was that there was a rush of
"Internet Yellow Pages" books - compilations of interesting sites on the
Internet. I wondered why publishers didn't realise that these were likely
to be obsolete as URLs might change, or at least of limited use, since the
number of sites on the Net was continuously growing. And heck, the best
place for a directory of sites was on the *Web* where it could be updated
regularly.

Needless to say, I haven't seen one of those books on bookshelves here in a
while. You can fool some of the people all of the time etc. etc.
