[thelist] php password failing on registration

Hi all (PHP Guru's)

I am running a script that regtisters a user along with a password... The
registrtaion is successful but the login doesn't accept the user, namely because
its not recognised I think this is something to do with encryption but have no
idea why its not happening... I have gone the installation 4 times and crossed
checked everything the script is running here

if someone could give it a test and some ideas why this is happening it would be
