While you won't be able to browse for the share directly you should be able
to see it by manually specifying the share.

ie: \\Workgroup\Computer\share$ as your path name.

This should work but I have not tried it with a Linux to WinXP scenario.
Works great with Linux to Win2k as this is how the development team at my
last employer shared our mp3s. Kept them 'in house' so to speak.

In regards to deleting the share, for some obscure (security through
obscurity?) reason Windows seems to really want these shares. With a little
coaxing, however, it is possible to not share your entire C: drive (hidden
or not).

Hope this sheds some light onto the situation.
