Yup, that was actually the first thing I tried, long before I knew
anything about PHP there was SSI, but no soap, that's turned off too.

Thanks for the advice & suggestions.  Going to this FTP-only, WinNT/IIS
machine from my usual host (with ssh access to RedHat, with PHP, SSI,
MySQL and all the other bells & whistles I've come to enjoy) has been a
bit of a pain.  UltraEdit can't even reliably retrieve files from the
site (and UE works fine with every other site I've ever worked with, so
I don't think it's a UE problem).
