[thelist] SITE CHECK: (time for a beating) site check please

hi.

i'm pretty far along in the production of a website right now. during
the building of it i've learned A LOT, A LOT of things/stuff regarding
how to correctly use markup correctly, css, usability, and some other
stuff. so although some of the things i've learned haven't been
implemented into the site yet, i'd like to have as many people that are
willing use the site and give me feedback. the content on the frontpage
is all bogus.

please do some of the following, whatever your heart so desires.

1. i think accessibility is less a problem than usability is, so i'm
most interested in the usableness(?) of the site. getting syntax correct
and correct markup/css/validation is easy compared to usability. so if
you please, look for a "pouch" that is compatible with the "MK-9" and
then go through the checkout process. use the PO purchasing option so
you don't get bugged with credit card info.

2. test it in different browsers. (i know it looks crappy in nn4.x, but
that's not a big deal. opera 6, ie6, moz 1, and nn6 work fine [as far as
i could tell]) screenshots are always helpful.

3. look and feel. what sucks and what doesn't suck? (personal opinion is
what i'm looking for, as well as "this should never be like this.")

4. take a look at the code, what would you do differently and why?

i hope all of this isn't too much too ask. and of course, i'm not asking
that everyone do each item, but rather do at least one of the items.

the website is greatly directed at a specific audience. IOW, when
someone goes to the site, they know where they are going and they will
probably type it directly into their browser (as opposed to any sort of
link from anywhere.) but still, tell me if you understand what the site
is about and what it's for, it would be helpful even for the
knowledgeable user to not have to figure out what's going on.

thanks for all the help!
chris.
