There is no control in the UI for that.  It actually used to work that way
automatically, then suddenly shortly after the 1.1 alpha milestone, it
started working the other way for no clear reason.  What to do about it
(and some workarounds to get it working the way you might want) is
discussed in this Bugzilla bug:
