[thelist] hosting validator service?

Does anyone know of a free/open-source validator service that I could
install on a Win2k server behind a firewall? I'd like to set up a validator
service for my team internally.

I've looked at the W3 system and it strongly urges a *nix system, which we
don't have. Has anyone managed to get this running on a Windows/IIS server?
Should I even bother trying?

I'd like it to be web-based like the W3 system, so it can check passed-in
URLs and generate reports based on DOCTYPEs. I'd also like it to support
XHTML, as I'm trying to move to W3C/WAI/etc compliant code.
