Dear Carole,

Thank you for your email pointing out the
domain issue. My name is Balder Alofs. I
work with Dot TK and Joost Zurbier, the
technical manager of the .TK "ccTLD"
(Country Code Top Level Domain) as
appointed by ICANN and IANA.

We are very sensitive to the situation you
indicated in your email and intend to take
care of the matter immediately. So that you
understand Dot TK's business, how this occurred,
as well as how the resolution affects you, please
allow me to explain briefly:

Dot TK is the exclusive registry of .TK domain
names. Very basically, we offer two services:

1. We offer users the opportunity to register a
FREEDOMAIN.TK: with this service, users can
register the domain name for FREE, but they do
not acquire the licensing (legal) rights. These
rights remain with Dot TK. We then point the
FREEDOMAIN.tk to any existing, live site on the
Web requested by the registrant. This is a
"Referral" URL.

2. Users may also purchase a PAIDDOMAIN.TK:
this service is like that offered by any other
ccTLD. The registrant purchases a license for a
.tk domain name, for an annual fee. The
difference here is that we accept registrants
worldwide, while many ccTLD managers do not.

In any event, the registrant in question (the
one using the domain you object to) is a user
of a FREEDOMAIN.TK. The registrant elected to
obtain the domain "XXXXXXX.TK". This means that
it is a domain which Dot TK is the legal holder
of. This is fortunate for you because it means
that we have the authority to deactivate the
domain. In fact, we have elected to release
this domain name from the current registrant
as a FREEDOMAIN.tk and as we are unable to
remove it entirely as a domain option, we are
making it available as a PAIDDOMAIN.tk only.
The registration fee is $ per year.

You have a few options as it relates to the
domain. You may now register the domain if
you wish, or you may leave it in the pool to
be registered by anyone else willing to pay
for it.

I would recommend you purchase the domain and
secure it for your own use. You can easily
register it via our Website at http://www.Dot.TK.
We have registered more than 450,000 FREE and
PAID Dot TK domains since our launch earlier
this year, so many people all over the world
already recognize he .tk extension. We believe
you will find it to be a worthwhile investment
in your Internet business.

We are hopeful that this resolves the issue.

With kind regards,

Balder Alofs
