[thelist] validating css

I am trying to validate a stylesheet (css1) , but the validator is
coughing at these lines:
Error = "Parse error"
and this is the css:

    font-size: 20px;
    font-weight: bold;
    font-family: arial, sans-serif;
    background-image: url("images/translucent.gif");
    width: 550px;
    padding: 5px;
    margin:8px;
    border: 1px solid #fff;
    }

any ideas why this won't validate????
