the killer is, the URL could have been deamazonised [1] thusly:

the extra crap is just an attempt to make the page stateful with the
browsing session it was captured from.

[1] a process i've coined whereby you strip the extraneous crap from a URL
to make it as short as possible without losing any core functionality beyond
'access the relevant web page' cf
