It would **GREATLY** help to SEE the actual page in question, but here's
what comes to mind:

  - It it valid (x)html?
  - Is it valid CSS?
  - do you have proper nesting of tags?
  - are you setting a width on the DIV?
  - are your images set to float inside the DIV?

There's pleanty more where that came from, but no one can help with the
specifics without seeing the page...
