Make sure that:

a) you set an SSID other than the default
b) you enable 104 (sometimes called 128) bit WEP - create 4 keys, and rotate
between them
c) use a Wireless Access Point that lets you restrict by MAC address, and
use that feature

You don't want your next door neighbour stealing your internet connection
now.. :-)

If you end up with a big network, then consider a VPN - your Wireless Access
Point is outside your local LAN. When you connect to the WAP, you need to
authenticate to get access to the local LAN, and then you get access to the
rest of the 'net.

Cheers
Ken

: I was looking into Linksys wireless products. At home we already
: have the wired router and NICs, and they've worked really well. The
: reason we are wanting to upgrade to wireless is so we can take out a
: bunch of the network cables that are running through the hallways,
: etc.
