Has anyone else had trouble with NS7.0 when following this advice?  In
my testing, if I do a link like this:

<a href="blah.php?var=val&amp;thing=this">

(which is I think the proper W3C way to do it) it works in most
browsers, but NS7.0 returns all my variables as:

amp;thing = this

Any solution, short of UA detection?
