         I just have to say one thing:

         The top banner is in sooooooooo many pieces that for a fast
connection, it actually slows the site down.

         HTTP has to establish a new connection every time it requests any
file. So, there's actually a lag every time a file is requested. (On many
broadband connections, particularly cable, the lag is actually the major
limiter on the connection, as opposed to the actual bandwidth.) The more
files are requested per page, the longer it takes the page to load. So,
splitting the imagine into, perhaps, three to nine would be a nice
compromise for modem users that still makes the page load fast enough for
DSL/Cable users.

         Also, your server would have to deal with fewer "hits."
