[thelist] Can any one think of a reason why I can't

I do that kind of thing all the time, eg

data.js.php

To remind me it's a PHP-generated javascript file.  Never had any
problems as a result.

put a dot in a file name as a separator as well as the extension

e.g..   default.2.htm

the reason I want to is that it makes for easy parsing.
