are you using a custom ua string?  if so, you won't see it unless that ua
string contains 'msie' and ('5.' or '6.') and 'win'.

it submits the permissions to the server where any undefined elements are
calculated server-side and placed into the form.  it's really just a
mechanism to show that this setup can work both client-side and server-side
(i still have to build in the server-side processing for converting chmod to
checked checkboxes and permissions and converting permissions to checked
checkboxes and chmod).
