[thelist] Pop-up killers

I have a question about pop-up killers and how they work.

1) Is there an overwhelming leader in the most popular software to kill
pop-ups?  I found a lot of packages, but wasn't sure if there were a few
that are commonly used by everybody.

2) Do they differentiate between an onLoad event and an onClick event?

Any help would be useful.
