Actually, Flash is the best solution I know of to get your information
to a visitor with the least bandwidth.

A great example is <http://www.phpforflash.com/board/>.

Perhaps loading .txt files into a sibling frame (or iframe, if that
would work) would win by a smidgeon if you didn't have much info to
convey and were utterly unconcerned with all the business you'd loose
from the hordes of Lynx users!

My favorite would have to be turbonium.com ... marketing site for the
new VW bug. Is no longer with us.
