Wrox and Friends of Ed will be gone too as they're all run by the same
company - the Peer Information group.

As a FoEd/Wrox author, I got this email today...

Dear author,

The Board of Peer Information has passed a resolution to place the
company into liquidation. The company is unable to meet its financial
commitments, and we have been unable to secure additional funding. The
Directors are left with no choice but to place the company into
insolvency process.

Please stop work immediately on all contracted work from Peer
information. Retain safe copies of all your work. The contract that you
have with the company remains valid. There will be a 3-4 week hiatus
period until we are able to discuss the future course of your project.

It's sad as I know a lot of good people are working there at the moment
and I haven't been able to get in touch to find out what the situation
is. All I can say is that there's too much talent there for them not to
spring up somewhere else.

As quoted from the latest news on the friendsofed.com site...

keep designing,
keep flashing,
keep photoshoping,
keep doing whatever it is you do.

remember what we believed in: designer to designer.

keep an eye out for us,
we'll be around

it's been swell,
you've been a great audience.

over...and out...

I don't know that I can say it any better than that!

Regards,

Steve
