Hi, Rudy et al --

Not certain this would have solved your problem (I don't allow Outlook on
the machine I use), but when my father had that problem, I taught him to
right-click the filename. One of the context menu options that appears (at
least in his W'98 Outlook) is to open the
attached/cited/downloaded/referenced file. This also gives you access to
"hidden" information about the message, in case you want that.
