Your solution: beware, while this will let the other person log in with
there own password, once they are in the system will think they are the root
user. (Havent tried this, but I think) if this person then ran passwd they
would be changing roots password and thus lock you out. Its a nasty nasty
kludge.

Look into Sudo. This allows you to give certain normal users the rights to
execute certain commands as the root user.
