Jeff,

I definitely supplied the admin team the correct logon, and they're sure
they entered the logon credentials as supplied. Do you know where I can get
hold of Coldfusion Server 5.0 Evaluation? I'll do some testing on my own
machine as support isn't, shall we say, very responsive.

sounds like a rather simple fix to me.  the problem appears to be an
authentication problem with the datasource.  supply the proper
authentication to oracle and that should take care of this problem.

are you really using an odbc driver to connect to oracle?  if so, perhaps a
native driver might be a better performing choice for you.  but, one thing
at a time.  get the proper database authentication stuff in place and see
what happens from there.
