[thelist] HomeSite

Coming from a pure Notepad programmer originally, I migrated to Homesite and
found it was the next best thing. Nothing touches my code - I have complete
control. With Dreamweaver and other WYSIWYIG HTML editors, excessive amounts
of code are placed in the code when you "drag and drop" elements onto the
canvas. This results in a lot of <td></td> (empty table cells - used for
padding). Not all browsers are going to interpret this spacing correctly -
thus - BUSTED CODE.

Homesite has built in tools to mimic some WYSIWYG functionality, so
essentially, you are getting the best of both worlds, plus you can add on
custom items (dictionaries, wizards) and with color coding for ASP, PHP,
CSS, HTML you code takes on a whole life of its own.

I would not code with out it!

Why do people like HomeSite so much? What does it have over...say
Dreamweaver? Any input would be appreciated.

TIA,

Gabriel
