Sure, it's technically possible. Is it usable. No

Any CRT running at less than 72-75 Hz is unviewable for anything longer than
short stints once you have got used to good quality, high refresh rate
monitors, because the flicker is visible.

Frankly, running a 17" monitor (and I only use Trinitrons these days) at
1600x1200 is a little crazy. On a 19" monitor it's doable. On a 21" monitor
it's fine. But I'd rather have 2 x 17" LCDs - same room, more space.

==== My wish list ====
(a) next year's MSDN subscription paid for
(b) $500 gift voucher for the local bookstore
(c) brand new test lab: small 24U rack (or even the 11U one that IBM makes),
plus a couple of 1U or 2U servers, plus associated equipment
==== My wish list ====

==== Things I already have, but really like ====
(a) Logitech MX500 mouse (it's not the rechargeable cordless one, but I
think it's better value/money - I liked it so much I bought a couple for
home as well)
(b) Dell Latitude D600. I was sick of lugging a heavy laptop around. This
one's a tad over 2 kg but still gives you 1400x1050 on the display.
(c) External LCD to attach to said laptop, to give more screen space.
(d) MSDN subscription
==== Things I already have, but really like ====

Cheers
Ken
