... and yet another good reason to install Cygwin on your Windows
machine. :-)

Not only do you get real shells (bash, tcsh) but you also get `wish`
and `tclsh`, suitable for creating quick GUI tools much as Frank's
describing, and `expect`, which was created to facilitate scriptable
interaction with other programs.
