Don't forget permalinks: entries on a blog should always provide a 
"permalink" (or permanent link) to that individual entry. This allows 
other blogs to link to that entry as part of an ongoing discussion, 
which allows blogs to function as a discussion medium (similar in a way 
to a mailing list or forum) rather than existing in isolation.
