I've just been over with this with rudy, on- and off-list. My email was 
out of line - one of the golden rules of advocacy is "don't piss off 
your target audience" and by concentrating on slating IE rather than 
promoting Firebird I was doing exactly that. I also realised that the 
readership of a list like this are informed enough to have tried the 
alternatives and made their own choice based on informed decision, so I 
was completely off target in any case.

I apologise if I offended anyone, and I'll chose my words more carefully 
in the future. Let's hope this nips this thread in the bud before it 
careers out of control.
