[thelist] Short-Term email listservs

Hi all,
One of the partners in my firm is chairing a conference in December.
He wants to have an email list (similar to this one) setup that runs
until about a month after the conference. It will only be open to the
people attending which should be less than 250 people. He would also
like to archive the messages.

What's the fastest and easiest way to setup something like this? I
have used mailman in the past but in this case it seems like using a
shotgun to kill a spider. Just too much work and setup for something
so low-volume and short-term.

I am very open to third-party options such as Yahoo! Groups or
something. Any suggestions are appreciated.
