[thelist] can I send email to a subdomain?

Hi,
We have a server working like this:
www.domain.com
and
domain.com

and can send email to mail at domain.com

We have a second webserver with it's own IP address that we want to setup as
a subdomain of the first one:

support.domain.com

I understand this can be done by our domain name registrar, as we don't have
a control panel.

Can we though also send email specifically to the second machine, if it has
it's own mailserver running?
would one IP address be enough for this?
Does the email go to mail at support.domain.com ?

Box 1 is win2k, box 2 is Debian.

Or is it easier just to get a separate domainname for it?
