I installed this once, and it seemed pretty good to me:

http://www.horde.org/imp/

I didn't really use it in anger -- just a temporary solution when a housemate
was stuck on a heavily locked down NT machine at work with nothing but a web
browser.

Seems to have had a massive overhaul since then and there are some nice examples
of customised interfaces on the website.
