You can - use the Jet Replication Objects (JRO). This allows you to recreate
replication, and also compact & repair databases, and upgrade the database
format (using the JetEngine class).

Be aware that doing this creates a new copy of the database, which may, or
may not, have the same NTFS permissions as the original (because it'll
inherit NTFS permissions from the folder, not from the older file).
