just before the bottom of this page:

http://lists.evolt.org/

is a "search the archive" box, which is set up to use google as you 
suggest.

(don't worry, I always miss it too - jumping to the archive listing before 
scrolling down the page.  The search box is *not* where you'd expect it.)
