Well, my reaction would be: "oh, poor people, spam problems are not 
nice, but I'll do what I can to help them..."

Then again, rather than aggressive I'm know to be quite compassionate...

But what would your reaction be if you never received *any* response... 
I might try sending another email, but not receiving response for that 
either, I'd probably give up. So I would not recommend relying only on 
white list, as one previous poster suggested.

Oh, it's not an option for me either, as currently I have no spam 
problems. What I'm trying to do here, is explore different approaches, 
so that people having spam problems could make educated choices fitting 
their needs and situation.

It is true that requiring even the simplest of actions is not an optimal 
solution, but in some situations it may be the only one.
