Tony,

Thanks for the tip, I've often been snagged by apps that won't uninstall.

Trouble is, I don't have unwise on my PC - where does it come from?

If you’ve installed stuff that now won’t uninstal, claiming instead that  
unwise.exe cannot find install.log then this will help:

Open a command prompt box, (run cmd) go to the directory where the app you  
want to uninstall resides and see if there’s an unwise.exe file. Also,  
check to see that the INSTALL.LOG file exists. (If it doesn’t then that  
means that it has been deleted or something in which case your best bet is  
to install the app again and try uninstalling it afterwards)

Then all you have to do is type:

unwise INSTALL.LOG

and the app will be uninstalled… (you will then have to type ‘exit’ to  
close the command prompt box and may have to delete the directory manually
