[thelist] Reporting Bugs to Large Corporations

Hi All,

Just for the sake of comparison, I thought I'd let you know what happened
today when I reported a bug to Sun.

The error was a small documentation error in the SDK 1.4.2. Reporting it was
easy -- I just followed the link at the bottom of their page to "report a
bug or feature". (Conveniently, this link appears at the bottom of every
page of the SDK documentation.)

Less than four hours later(!), I received a personal reply from a real human
being, telling me that this has already been fixed in v 1.5.0, with the
relevant link to the new docs page.

Now that's what I call customer service: I feel valued and respected as a
customer and, AFAIK, I've never given Sun a single penny.

Now, there's a standard to aspire to!

David.
