This is a shot in the dark, but could that particular viewer have some
weirdo version of the Georgia font which doesn't contain normal latin
characters? Try switching it to Times for a second and see what happens.

But would using points make the user see a font that resembles symbols?  The
error that I tried to send a jpg of showed a screenshot of illegible text
that resembled symbols.  Any thoughts on this?
