That would be good for serving assets such as images, pdf files and
static html files.  It would be good for taking some of the bandwidth
need away from your main site.  However they are a bit pricy, also some
hosting companies have deals with Akamai and can get you a cheaper cost.

Here are some of the hosts that could handle you easily.

http://www.navisite.com
http://www.rackspace.com cheapest on this list
http://exodus.net/services/hosting.html

You are looking for a hosting company with 2-3 connections to the major
backbone providers.  One exception is ATT since they are 90% of the US
network.

Maybe you need something more like this http://www.akamai.com/ ?  It's 
the backbone load balancer for google/msn/etc
