[thelist] A Beginner Freelance Question

You might consider a 'retainer', especially, given that this is a legal
firm.

What I usually do is price the redesign and the monthly updates; divide by
12 for a monthly retainer amount; include a fee adjustment clause if the 12
month agreement is not honored to recoup the redesign and the monthly
changes already done; write an agreement to state this for their signature;
and then send the invoice the end of each month for the coming months
retainer to be paid to me on the first week of the month. This does seem to
work as many companies and organizations do not like to pay the up-front
investment involved with initiating or redesigning websites. Also, your
benefit is that you have a defined monthly income from this project and the
stronger possibility that you will retain the project into the following
year and beyond. Does this help?

Question: Also, may I ask if anyone knows of anyone who is looking for help
with websites, .html coding, e-editing, and/or a webmaster?

Thanks,

Suzanne
