Drupal does have version control - seems to be fine, you can see all
the old versions of each content item, revert to one or delete old
versions.

Also a great permission system and moderation/queueing.

You're right I can't find anything in the documentation about it,
except for this line 

"Revisions
    Drupal has a revision system so that you can "roll back" to an
older version of a post if the new version is not what you want."
