[thelist] Web services is cheaper than a LAN

Unless each computer is stitting at the business end of a T1 with a
static IP, you're gonna need a LAN.

Heck, my home PC with cable modem has a HW firewall, and a 4 port
router. It's a LAN.

You need the LAN. 

Don't burn the book, return it to the vendor so the author doesn't
keep his share of the purchase price.
