[thelist] Access-like drop-downs

	That's not off-topic at all.  The problem with this feature of
dropdowns is that it only matches the first letter of the entry, so in
order to get to Italy in a list of countries, you'd have to type "T"
many times in a row instead of the more intuitive "ita".

this may be OT but a little known(?) browser feature is that when you 
focus a select box and type, the browser will select the option item 
that corresponds closest to trhe value you're typing.
