[thelist] Free/cheap authoring tools for small Flash stuff

Thanks Norman, that's where I've ended up so far.

This is my first look at any kind of flash authoring, and I have to say, swishmax is pretty nifty. Seems like you can do a lot with it, including fairly complex interactive stuff; it's definitely not just a text effects generator.

One thing that seemed kind of awkward was building buttons. They're made out of 4 separate objects, each with its own text and size that usually should be but aren't automatically identical. More repetitive nits than I expected.

How similar is working in swishmax to working in Flash MX?

Also, has anyone looked at 3D Flash Animator? Haven't tried it yet, but it looks less mature.
