You had better use the internet. 

imho, no book will adequately express cross-browser issues and
browser-specific hacks (which I try to avoid all the time but need to
know none the less). Also no book, again imho, will be able to addres
all the peculiarities such as the 3px issue of floating divs, peekaboo
issue, flash of unstyled content, margin 10px auto bug in opera etc.

Here are my 0.02$ list of sites to start.
